Edit Mp3 Id Information

An ID3 tag allows information about the audio file such as the title of the song and artist name to be stored within the file. ID3 tags are often used with MP3 files. When creating an MP3 file to share or sell, you should insert an ID3 tag so other users know the artist name, song title and other important information about the track. You may also come across MP3 files that have incorrect song titles or artist names. You can edit the ID3 tags of those tracks as well.

Instructions

iTunes

1. Open iTunes.

2. Add the MP3 to iTunes. To do this, select a playlist in the iTunes Library. (To create a new playlist, select "Library," click on "File" and choose "New Playlist.") Select the file in the saved location and with the mouse drag the file into the playlist in the iTunes Library.

3. Right-click on the file in the playlist and select "Get Info."

4. Hit the "Info" tab. Enter details into the corresponding fields. For example, enter the name of the track in the "Name" field, enter the artist or group into the "Artist" field and enter the album name in the "Album" field. You can also enter comments, the year the track was made or released and select a genre.

5. Select the "Lyrics" tab and enter lyrics for the track. This of course is optional.

6. Click on the "Artwork" tab and press the "Add" button. In the browser window, select an album cover or other image or artwork. Press the "Open" button. Press "OK."

Windows Media Player

7. Open Windows Media Player.

8. Click on the "Library" tab and drag the file from the saved location into the library.

9. Right-click on the file and select "Edit."

10. Type in the artist name and song title. Hit "Enter."

11. Right-click on the "Library" tab and select "Advanced Tag Editor." Enter the additional information such as "Original album" and "Beats per minute." Click "OK."
