Things You Can Do For Any Grownup Birthday

Enjoy a soothing afternoon at the spa to celebrate another year.

Whether the birthday boy is 18 or 80 years of age, a birthday is always something to celebrate. Plan a special celebration for a special grownup in your life and use his interests as a guide to the perfect theme for the party or other creative activity.

Casino Night

Turn a special adult's birthday into a high-class evening of gambling and socializing. You can arrange for a group of friends to spend an evening at a nearby casino and have the entire group pitch in a little bit of money so the birthday guest can try his luck for free. If there is no casino nearby or there is a large party group, bring the casino to a rented banquet hall with rented gaming tables and slot machines. You can hire dealers for the event or find a few guests to volunteer to take turns. Play with plastic gaming chips and then award prizes at the end of the night to the biggest winners.

Pampering Spa

Treat the birthday girl and some of her closest friends to a little bit of rest and relaxation at a local spa. You can arrange for a simple manicure for an inexpensive party activity and then bring the party group back to home for a light lunch or dinner afterwards. Alternatively, splurge on the treatments for a small group with manicures, pedicures, facials and even a makeover. Dine out at an upscale restaurant afterwards to show off your new selves. For a party group that would prefer to enjoy the party in the comfort of the home, arrange some treatments at home with a mobile spa.

Road Trip to Nowhere

Venture out into the great unknown with a car full of your closest friends. If you can't get away for too long, just arrange a short weekend road trip together. Make as few plans as you possibly can; the purpose of the trip is to let the road take you wherever it will and then turn around to head back home half-way through the weekend. Make stops at local restaurants for meals and stop for some sleep at the closest hotel or motel. Be sure to bring the camera along for some great keepsake memories.

Remember-When Celebration

When the guest of honor is celebrating a milestone birthday, turn the event into a tribute to his younger years. For a birthday boy born in the 1950s, turn the party venue into a sock hop with as many authentic-looking decorations as you can find. Hang old records on the wall, rent a jukebox and a soda fountain, and have the disc jockey keep the rock and roll playing all night. Encourage each of your guests to arrive in 1950s style, with poodle skirts or leather jackets.
