Embed Itunes In Your Website

Embed ITunes On Your Website

After purchasing your favorite songs from ITunes and downloading them into your ITunes library, you should be able to play those songs anywhere you like right? Technically, the answer is yes since you did purchase the song. However, ITunes are downloaded in the M4P format, which makes them incompatible with anything other than the IPod. After trying for almost 12 straight hours to figure out embed my purchased ITunes onto my website, I finally found a solution. I decided to post the solution here so that you won't have to spend the time that I did looking for a fix. Enjoy!

Instructions

1. Open your ITunes Library. "Right Click" on the song that you would like to embed on your website. Select "Convert to MP3" or "Create MP3 Version." The wording will vary depending upon the ITunes version you are running. The songs will automatically be copied as an MP3 format and stored in your computer's "Documents" or "Music" folder.

2. Visit the "Mailbox Drive" website. See the link for Mailbox Drive's site in the "Resources" section at the end of this article. Mailbox Drive will allow you to upload your MP3s to their server. Click "Register" to create a new account for free. Begin uploading your MP3s. After uploading your MP3 file to Mailbox Drive, they will email you a link to activate your MP3 file on the server. Click on the the activation link. You can then "Right Click" on the link to copy the link's URL.

3. Visit the "Mix Pod" website. Their website's link is also located in the "Resources" section at the end of this article. Click "Sign Up" on the top right hand corner of their site to create a free account.

4. Select the MP3 player skin that you would like to use for your ITunes. Under the "Add Music" tab, enter the URL (link) to your MP3 from step 2. You can add as many songs as you like. Under the "Customize" tab, you can customize other settings for your new ITunes player, such as whether or not you want the music to start playing automatically. Click "Save" after you have finished adding links and customizing.

5. Copy the HTML code provided for your player after it has been saved.

6. Log into your website's HTML editor. Paste the code into the editor and save the page. Your ITunes music is now playing on your website. If you don't want the player to be visible on your website, you can edit the HTML code by changing the width and height values to "01." Be sure to change the width and height pixels to "01" also. By hiding the player, you can ensure that nobody copies your music. However, the downside is that they can't control the playback options, such as play, pause, and fast forward.
