Make An Exterior Energy Supply To Have An Ipod device Classic

A fairly common example of a USB power adapter.

The Apple iPod comes with a couple of important accessories. They do not, however, include a power adapter. Apple assumes that most people will be plugging their iPod directly into their computer, for charging, and to load music onto the iPod. Even though this is usually the case, not everyone is willing to dedicate a USB port to their iPod. Fortunately, USB power adapters are readily available. Even Apple sells one, though they market it towards the iPhone.

Instructions

Connecting your iPod to AC Power

1. Connect the 30-pin iPod Dock Connector Cable into the Dock Connector port on the bottom of the iPod.

2. Plug the USB plug on the Dock Connector Cable into the USB port on the Power Adapter. This is just like plugging it into any other USB port.

3. Plug the USB Power Adapter into a power outlet, preferably one on a surge protecting power strip. If you don't have one, you can plug it directly into the wall, though this is not recommended. See Warnings for more information.

4. Plug the power strip into a nearby power outlet. Turn on the power strip (if it isn't already on).
