Use The Cricut Gypsy
Using the Cricut Gypsy to design and layout your designs can save time and money when working on paper-craft projects. The Cricut Gypsy is a handheld device loaded with design software, allowing you to create your own designs to scale. One of the best features of the Gypsy is the ability to load all of your Cricut cartridges on the device. Before you can use the Gypsy with your Cricut machine, you will need to install the device.
Instructions
1. Connect your Cricut machine to your computer using a USB connection cable to update the machine's firmware. Visit the Cricut website to download the latest firmware for your machine. If you are unsure of the version of firmware your machine is using, power the machine off, and then on again. The display screen will display the firmware version number when the machine is warming up.
2. Connect the Cricut Gypsy to your Cricut cutting machine while the Gypsy is powered off. The Gypsy is sold with a USB connection cable that connects the Gypsy to your Cricut. Make sure each device is plugged in using this connection cable.
3. Turn the Gypsy device on. The Gypsy will detect your cutting machine. It is also possible the Gypsy will run an update on the cutting machine. Make sure the Gypsy is always connected while any updates are running. Do not disconnect the device.
4. Select the matte size of your design on the Gypsy. Once selected, you can begin creating your design on the Gypsy using the cartridges loaded on the Gypsy.
5. Load the cutting matte in your machine when you are ready to cut your design. Place the matte in the machine loader, and then click the "load paper" button on your Gypsy. After the paper is loaded, click the "cut" button on the Gypsy to cut your design.
