Connect your GoGear player to your PC.
Philips makes a line of portable music players under the name GoGear. These devices read MP3 music files that you can copy from your personal computer. When there is an error with your GoGear device, you might need to enter the recovery mode to fix it. It might take a few attempts to get the GoGear to enter recovery mode and fixing the device can cause you to lose your saved music.
Instructions
1. Start your computer and check for a working Internet connection.
2. Start the Philips Firmware Manager program on your computer. Click "Start," "Programs" and "Philips Firmware Manager."
3. Turn on the GoGear device, then turn off the device fully by pressing and holding the "Play/Pause" button until the device shuts down.
4. Connect the device to your computer using the USB cable. One end of the cable plugs into the GoGear device and the other end connects to your computer's USB slot.
5. Press and hold the "Play/Pause" button as soon as you connect the device to the computer. The firmware program recognizes the GoGear device and enters recovery mode. If you see the message "Please connect the device in recovery mode," repeat Steps 2 through 5.
