Windows Media Player (WMP) is the default media preinstalled in Windows operating systems. WMP allows you to upload a variety of media files to its library so you can play content anytime you want, or upload to portable media players. If the WMP library contains too many media files you are no longer playing, clearing them from the library removes clutter and keeps your media player organized. Clearing media files from your player and computer also frees up memory and hard drive space. Delete unwanted WMP files in minutes.
Instructions
1. Click the Windows Start menu, select "All Programs," and then click "Windows Media Player" to launch your media player.
2. Click the "Switch to Library" button in the upper-right corner of WMP. You should now see all the files uploaded to your library.
3. Right-click the media file you want to remove from your library and click "Delete." When prompted, specify whether you want to remove the media file from just the WMP library, or from your computer as well.
4. Press and hold the "Shift" key and click each file you want to remove, if you want to select multiple adjacent items. Select non-adjacent media files by pressing and holding the "Ctrl" key as you click the files you want to remove. Right-click the selection, click "Delete," and then either delete from the computer or just WMP.
