Remove Home windows Folders

The files stored on a computer running Windows are organized in a way that is intended to be reminiscent of a paper-based office environment. Each computer file is similar to a document, and all documents are stored in directories called folders. If you have several Windows files that you would like to delete at once, the fastest way to do so is by deleting the folder in which the files are contained. Delete Windows folders to keep your computer organized if you no longer need any of the files contained within them.

Instructions

1. Click the "Start" button, then click "Computer" in Windows 7 and Vista or "My Computer" in Windows XP.

2. Double click the "Local Disk" to browse the contents of your computer's hard drive directly or double click the "My Documents" folder if the folder that you would like to delete is located there. Continue browsing the computer by double clicking folders until you have located the folder that you would like to delete.

3. Click the folder, then press the "Delete" key on the keyboard. Alternatively, right click the folder and select "Delete." Click "Yes" to confirm. The folder and all of its contents will be sent to the Windows Recycle Bin.

4. Right click the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop and select "Empty Recycle Bin" to delete the folder permanently.
