Remove Recent Downloads On Home windows Media Player

With all of the downloadable video and music files available on the Internet, it can be easy to accumulate a considerable amount of material. A popular program for enjoying your digital media is Microsoft Windows Media Player. One of the features of Media Player is an area that holds the most recently downloaded files. These files can be deleted if you decide you no longer want or need them.

Instructions

1. Launch the Windows Media Player program and click once on the "Library" icon.

2. Click once on the category drop-down menu located near the upper left corner and select the media option for which you want to delete recent downloads. In this example, "Music" is chosen, but the process will work the same no matter which option you choose.

3. Click once on the "Recently Added" option under the "Library" section. You can also double click on the "Recently Added" option under the "Primary Views" section.

4. Select the downloaded file or files that you want to delete. Click once on a file to select a single file, click once on individual files while holding down the "Control" (Ctrl) key to select multiple files, or select a sequential group of files by clicking once on the first file and then clicking the last file while holding down the "Shift" key. Press the "Delete" key once to delete the selected files.

5. Select one of the "Delete" options from the Windows Media Player pop-up window. To delete the files from the Media Player only, select "Delete from library only." To delete the files permanently from the computer, as well as from Media Player, select the "Delete from library and my computer" option. Click once on the "OK" button to complete the deletion of the downloaded files.
