Upload pictures from your camera to a PC in a few simple steps.
Uploading pictures to your computer makes it easier for you to access photos whenever you need to email them to friends or print them out. You can easily upload pictures from an external storage device onto your computer in no time.
If you have a digital camera or external storage device where your pictures are stored and you do not know transfer them to your computer, these steps can help you.
Instructions
1. Insert the external storage device into a USB slot in your computer. If the device comes with a USB cord, plug one end of the cord into the mini USB port of the device, then connect the other end to the USB port of the computer. If you are connecting a digital camera or a similar device, power it on.
2. Wait for the computer to recognize the device. An "Autoplay" window will appear a few seconds after you plug in the device. Select "Open folder to view files" to open the window where the files are located. If the "Autoplay" window does not appear, navigate to the drive by clicking on "Start" and then "My Computer." Double-click on the USB drive to open.
3. Select the pictures that you want to save to your computer and then copy them by right-clicking on the file and selecting "Copy." If you want to save several random files, hold down the "Ctrl" key and click on the files one by one. When you are done, press "Ctrl + C" to copy the files. If you want to copy all the files in the folder, press "Ctrl + A" to select all files, then press "Ctrl + C" to copy.
4. Navigate to the drive or folder where you want to save the pictures. Alternatively, you can create a new folder where you will save the files. For example, if you want to save the folder on your desktop, click on an empty space and then select "New Folder." Open the folder and paste the files that you copied in step 3. To paste, press "Ctrl + V" or right-click on an empty space and select "Paste."
