Troubleshoot such issues to resolve them and get back to enjoying your digital music collection.
Instructions
1. Make sure the device is on if its front screen doesn't illuminate. Press and hold the power button, located on the top end of the device, for two seconds to power it on or off.
2. Check that the hold switch isn't activated if the device turns on but doesn't respond when you push its buttons. The lock switch can be found on the top back end of the Dell Pocket DJ. When locked, the switch displays a red icon. Move it to the left to unlock it.

5. Adjust the device's built-in equalizer settings if you find the audio lacking in quality. Use the device's front scroll button to select "Settings & Info." Scroll down and click "Settings." Click "EQ" and choose a custom setting depending on the type of music you're listening to, such as "Pop" or Rock."
6. Launch the Dell Pock DJ's rescue mode if no other troubleshooting step helps. Press and hold the device's front "Play" button while inserting the end of a paper clip into the reset port on the bottom of the MP3 player. The screen will change and give you several options. Click "Clean Up" if your MP3 tracks skip or stop playing unexpectedly. The payer will then scan the files and fix any errors. Alternatively, click "Format All" if the Dell player freezes often.
