Insert a blank CD or DVD to get started.
Nero 7 Essentials, a basic version of the Nero 7 software suite, ships with a number of mass-manufactured computers. Although Nero 7 Essentials does not feature the complete Nero 7 package, you may still burn video and audio CDs, disk images and make labels and covers. Unfortunately, the Nero 7 Essential OEM (or Original Equipment Manufacturer) installation that ships with each computer may vary, which will have an impact on the software and plug-ins available to you. You may upgrade your version of Nero or purchase plug-ins to expand the usability of the software.
Instructions
1. Insert a blank CD or DVD. Click on "Start," "All Programs," "Nero 7 Essentials" and "Nero SmartStart Essentials."
2. Choose "CD" or "DVD" in the drop-down menu in the center of the SmartStart window.
3. Highlight each icon to access your options. Select "Data" if you wish to burn a data disk or make a copy of a pre-existing disk.
4. Select "Audio" to burn an audio CD or a Jukebox disk.
5. Click on "Photo and Video" to burn a digital video disk.
6. Choose "Backup" if you wish to burn a disk image and create a bootable disk.
7. Click on the "Extras" icon to run diagnostics, to create a disk label, to erase rewritable disks or to update your Nero installation.
8. Click on "Add" if burning a disk, then navigate to and select the file(s) you wish to burn. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the disk burning process.
