Convert An Mp3 For An Audio Compact disc File

When you buy music on the Internet from commercial sites such as iTunes or Amazon.com, you download the songs in MP3 file format. However, burning your MP3 files onto an audio CD requires that you first convert your music files to WAV format. Fortunately, several programs can automatically convert MP3 files to WAV files, creating a CD that can be played in any CD player.

Instructions

1. Download an audio file conversion program such as CDex or Jukebox Decoder. You can download these programs free at snapfiles.com or download.com. Run the setup file for the audio application you downloaded and open the program. If you are using Windows, you can also use Windows Media Player. Although Windows Media Player is preinstalled on most Windows-based computers, you may also download it free at Microsoft.com.

2. Use the menu of your audio application to select "create/burn audio CD." Insert a blank CD into your computer’s writable CD drive.

3. Open the file folder containing your MP3 files. Select the files you wish to burn onto a CD by dragging and dropping the file names into the "burn list" in your audio application. The burn list is a list of all files that you wish to put on a particular CD. If your audio application allows you to create a music library within the program itself, populate the program's music library and drag the files from the music library to the burn list.

4. Click your audio application’s "burn" or "start burn" button. The program will automatically convert your MP3 files to WAV files and burn them onto a CD.
