WMA is a file format that stands for Windows Media Audio. This format is a common format that many audio players can read and write. However, there are many older stereo systems that can't handle this format. You may have song files on your computer in the WMA format you may want to take along in your car, but if the stereo in your car only reads the format for music CDs (CDA), you need a way to convert those WMA files to CDA in order to listen to them on your car stereo. Learn how you can use Windows Media Player to burn your own CDA discs that will be functional on any stereo system.
Instructions
1. Download the latest version of Windows Media Player. This is a free download from Microsoft and will allow you to access WMA files and convert them to CDA.
2. Open Windows Media Player. The software will present you with a library of all the WMA tracks located on your computer. You can add the tracks you want to convert one at a time or hold down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard and select several tracks. Hold down the "Shift" key and point to the first and last track in a list with your mouse to select all tracks at once.
3. Hover over the "Burn" button on your tool bar and an arrow will appear. Click the arrow to access a drop-down menu. Select "Audio CD" from this menu.
4. Ensure you have a blank CDR disc in your computer's disc drive. Click the "Burn" option and Windows Media Player will convert your selected WMA tracks to CDA format and burn them to a disc that you can play in any CD player.
