The exterior of a bar or restaurant is what first brings a customer in, but the interior is what keeps them coming back. If your customers feel under-whelmed by your d cor, they might not return. Customers want to feel comfortable inside and have an experience they can’t find anywhere else. Interior design ideas for bars and restaurants use existing concepts to create an inviting space for customers.
Entertainment Ideas
If you run a bar or restaurant, you need some type of entertainment for your customer base. This can be as simple as adding a jukebox. If you have more space, create one large entertainment room or area. Use pool tables, arcade games and an electronic dartboard. For restaurants, you may want to install overhead televisions and run games or popular television shows to give your customers something to watch while waiting for their food. Bar owners can also add a stage area, where local bands play and/or a dance floor to get the customers on their feet and away from the tables.
Exhibition Area
Create an exhibition area in your space that lets customers see what goes on behind the scenes. The type of exhibition area you use depends on your restaurant style. For smaller restaurants, build your tables around a central grill and cooking station. Chefs prepare food directly in front of the customers, using this cooking station. For larger spaces, use a glass window in front of the cooking room. Arrange the tables facing different directions, which gives customers different views of the cooking. With bars, you can arrange the main counter against one wall and keep your bartenders behind it. Alternatively, place the bartenders and equipment in the center of the room.
Make Customers Feel at Home
Remind your customers of the surrounding neighborhood by using local artifacts. Display old high school photographs and yearbooks, as well as artifacts relating to local sports. Frame jerseys from local teams, both high school and college. Hang pennants on the wall and fill in with other items relating to the history of your town. Include images of the first settlers and older buildings in town. Use antiques and vintage pieces on the walls that work with your theme.
