Music To "Left 4 Dead 2"

"Left 4 Dead 2" pits you and three other players against an army of the living dead.

Music is an important part of the cooperative zombie-slaying video-game "Left 4 Dead 2", released in 2009 by Valve. The music in the game acts as a warning of what is about to happen next -- each event in the game, such as the approach one of the game's "special infected" or a or a rush of zombies, has a special theme tune which lets you know what you are about to fight. However, you can replace this in-game music with your own tunes.

Instructions

1. Open the root directory in your system for "Left 4 Dead 2". This will usually be in the "Program Files" folder under 'Valve", but if you installed the game through Steam then it will be in the "Steamapps" folder under "Common".

2. Open the "Sound" folder and then the "Music" folder.

3. Choose the sound you would like to replace. Each folder in this directory is named for the special infected or event that it will play over. For example, if you want your song to play when your party is attacked by a "Tank" infected, choose the "Tank" folder.

4. Copy the MP3 files inside the folder and back them up in case you change your mind later. There will be two files, one for the normal incidence and one extended version for level finales.

5. Replace the files with the songs that you want to use instead, in MP3 format.

6. Re-name the files so that they are exactly the same as the files you found in there in the first place. So if the file you found originally was "tank.mp3", you want to re-name your song "tank.mp3".

7. Close the folder and boot up the game, and your song will play in the place of the normal theme in the game.
