The Sony 200 disc changer can hold a vast library of music CDs to play at any time. If you have inserted a CD and it is not playing, there are several things that you can do to try to remedy the situation.
Instructions
1. Turn off the device and restart it after a few seconds. When it has restarted, it should cycle through the discs and the problematic disc should spin.
2. Check that the disc is compatible. Refer to your disc changer's manual for which type of discs are compatible with your player. For example, CD-ROMs, DVDs, Blu-rays or video CDs may not be compatible with your changer and, thus, will not play.
3. Check that the disc has been inserted correctly. Make sure the disc is seated properly in the disc tray. If the disc changer cannot properly grasp the CD, it will not play. Also make sure that you have placed the CD with the label facing upwards.
4. Check for damage on the disc. If the disc is dirty, smudged or otherwise scratched, it may not play properly in the CD changer. Try cleaning the CD. Use a cleaning cloth and wipe from the center outwards in a straight line. Do not wipe in circles.
5. Leave the player on for one hour. There is the possibility that condensation has gathered within the unit, causing the CD not to play. Remove the disc and leave the CD changer on for an hour to remove the condensation.
