You can play an image copy of a PC game on your computer with virtual drive software.
An ISO file is an exact duplicate of the contents of a CD/ROM disc. Thus, it is referred to as an image file. An ISO file of a computer PC CD/ROM video game disc is a virtual copy. To play this copy of the PC game, you will need an emulator. The type of emulators that can run and play ISO files are known as "virtual drives." These programs emulate a CD-ROM drive. Some examples of virtual drive programs are PowerISO and MagicISO. These are free and easily downloadable from the Internet.
Instructions
1. Download the virtual driver software (see Resources section below for download links) and install it on your computer by following the software's installation wizard.
2. Run and open the software and click "Mount," which will be an icon or option depending on the software. The number of virtual drives installed will appear in a drop-down menu.
3. Choose the virtual drive that you want to mount your PC game ISO image file to.
4. Select the "Mount Image" option and choose the PC game ISO file in the dialog box prompt. Afterwards, click the "OK" option. The PC game will start. You can either choose to install the game permanently onto your computer or you can mount the ISO file each time you want to play and run it off the virtual drive emulator.
