By hand Un-install Itunes From Home windows Xp

Uninstalling iTunes from Windows XP is a quick procedure

If you are no longer using the Apple iTunes program you don't have to leave it installed on your computer to waste space on your hard drive. The iTunes software can be manually removed in nearly the same method as nearly any other type of program by using the Windows XP "Add and Remove Program" feature. Before uninstalling the software you must first ensure that all of the iTunes components are properly shut down or Windows XP will not allow you to delete the program.

Instructions

1. Exit the iTunes and iPod Updater Utility if either program is currently running. Press the "Ctrl," "Alt," and "Delete" key combination to bring up the Windows XP task manager.

2. Click the tab labeled "Processes." Locate the process entry named "iPodService.exe." Click the entry and then select "End Process" to shut down the program.

3. Access the Start menu and choose "Control Panel." Select the "Add or Remove Programs" link.

4. Scroll down through the list of programs that are currently installed on your computer's hard drive. Click the "iTunes" entry and then click the "Remove button." Click "Yes" when prompted to confirm the decision.

5. Click "No" if a window appears that prompts you to restart Windows XP. Locate the "iPod Updater" entry in the list of programs.

6. Click the entry and then follow the same process to remove the program. Restart the Windows XP operating system.

7. Open the Start menu and click "Search." Click the "Folders" check box and then type "iTunes." Click "Search." Delete the folder that appears in the search results.
