Convert Itunes Format To Mp3

When you get music from iTunes, the music files are downloaded in a proprietary Apple format. Because of this, the music can be played only with iTunes software or an iPod or other Apple device. If you want to listen to your iTunes music on other devices or other computers, the best thing to do is to convert the files to the MP3 format; it is not proprietary, and most players can read it. Converting the files starts by putting them on CD.

Instructions

1. Download the latest version of iTunes if you don't have it already. Open up iTunes.

2. Create a playlist of all the music files you want to convert. You will have to limit it to about 700MB at a time because of a CD's space limitations. This would be about 200 to 300 songs, depending on length and quality. Choose "File" and then "New playlist."

3. Go to the music library and select the songs you want. Right-click on the files and choose "Add to playlist." Pick the name of the playlist that you just created.

4. Go to the playlists, choose the correct one and make sure all of the check boxes next to the songs are checked.

5. Click the "File" menu and choose "Burn Playlist to Disc."

6. Select MP3 as the disc format and select "Burn."

7. If you want to put the music files back on your computer, copy the files from the CD back to your computer.
