Connect A Zen To Some Mac

Creative, the company which makes the Zen line of MP3 players, opted not to include connectivity to Mac computers. This means that users who have Zen audio players and Mac computers are not able to sync their computer's music with their MP3 device, or so it would seem. Fortunately, there's a way to bypass this problem and have your Zen player recognized by your Mac computer using a free software program called XNJB. After downloading and installing the application, your computer will recognize your Zen and allow you to download music to it.

Instructions

1. Download the free XNJB software from the website listed in the Resources section below. Click the new "XNJB" file that appears on your desktop to open it. A .dmg image file will appear, which you will need to double-click in order to mount.

2. Open "Finder" and navigate to the XNJB disk image file. Drag and drop the XNJB icon into the "Applications" folder. Open the "Applications" folder and double-click the XNJB icon to launch the program.

3. Connect your Zen MP3 player to your Mac via the USB data cable that came with the MP3. Click the "Connect" button located in the bottom right-hand corner of the XNJB window. Wait a few moments for the XNJB application to gather your music files.

4. Click the "Music" tab located at the top of the XNJB window. Your window will now be divided into two basic sections. The top half shows the MP3 files already on your player, while the bottom half shows MP3 files on your computer.

5. Find a song on your computer, listed in the bottom half of the window, that you would like to put onto your Zen player, and click the "Up" arrow which is located in the middle of the window. To transfer a song from your MP3 player to your Mac, find the tune in the top half of the window, and then click the "Down" arrow.
