WAV files, which have a ".wav" file extension, are standard audio files for PC Windows users, and common for Mac users. If you want to convert a more common audio file such as an MP3 or an AIFF the WAV format, both iTunes and Apple's QuickTime Player can easily convert and/or re-compress your audio. Users may want to use iTunes if they want to retain both files in a simple library setting. QuickTime is better suited for editing purposes, as users can add audio tracks to video or cut and paste their WAV files after conversion.
