Create A Logo design For Any Production Company

When you're ready to promote your production company, using a logo can capture brand recognition and reinforce your product to your target customer base. Instead of commissioning a graphics design firm to create your logo, make one yourself using one of a number of different computer programs. With a couple of quick clicks and a little design work, you'll have a ready-to-use graphic that can represent your production company.

Instructions

Using Paint

1. Pull down the "Image" menu and select "Attributes." Set the logo size, such as 3 inches by 3 inches, and click the "OK" button. Pull down the "Image" menu again and uncheck the "Draw Opaque" option.

2. Click the "Paintbrush" tool, select the small round brush head and choose a paint color from the "Color Picker" at the bottom of the screen. For a different color, double-click any box, click "Define custom colors" and choose from the rainbow.

3. Draw the initials of your company, such as "MJC" for Maxwell Janofsky Carvings. Switch to a new paint color, click the "Paint Bucket" tool and click inside the logo, which fills in with the new color.

4. Click the "Pencil" tool, select a new paint color and add designs to the logo, such as swirls around the letters or fire flames.

5. Pull down the "File" menu and click "Save As." Give the logo a name and a destination folder on your computer. Pull down the "Save as type" menu and select "GIF," the only file format that allows for transparent backgrounds.

Using Photoshop

6. Pull down the "File" menu and click "New." Name the file "ProductionLogo" and set the dimensions, such as 4 inches by 4 inches. Click the "RGB Color" option under the "Mode" menu, click the "Transparent" option under the "Contents" section and click the "OK" button.

7. Click the "Paintbrush" tool, select a paint color by double-clicking the top left square of the "Color Picker" below it and click the "OK" button. Pull down the "Brush" menu at the top of the screen, select a small, solid brush such as #9 and position your cursor over the "ProductionLogo" box.

8. Draw a simple graphic that represents your company, such as film reel, clap board or music notes. Switch paint colors and brush heads to add more designs.

9. (Optional) Click the "Type" tool, which looks like a "T" and select a font, size and color from the toolbar at the top of the page. Position your cursor under the graphic and type the name of your company or a slogan.

10. Pull down the "File" menu, click "Save As" and select a destination on your computer for the logo. Pull down the "Format" menu, select "GIF" and click the "Save" button.

Using Publisher

11. Click "Blank Print Publication." An 8.5-inch by 11-inch page opens; pull down the "File" menu, click "Page Setup," scroll the "Publication type" menu to "Custom" and type your logo size, such as 3.5 inches by 3.5 inches. Click "OK" and the Publisher workspace adjusts automatically.

12. Pull down the "Insert" menu, click "Picture" and select "Clip Art." Pull down the "Results should be" menu and check the "Clip Art" box for a drawing-style logo, the "Photographs" box for a realistic logo or check both for the most results.

13. Type a word or phrase, such as "music notes," "movie screen" or "megaphone" into the "Search for" box and click "Go." Scroll through the results and double-click a graphic, which appears on the logo workspace. Grab a corner of the image and shrink or expand it to fit the space.

14. Click the "Insert WordArt" tool, which looks like a tilting letter "A" on the left side of the screen. Select a logo style and type your company name. Choose a font and size, then click "OK." Drag the text into place.

15. Pull down the "File" menu and click "Save As." Name the logo, select a destination for it on your computer and choose "GIF" from the "Save as type" options. Click the "Save" button.
