Discover The Track Listing Of A Compact disc

Your computer provides several methods of obtaining information about a CD.

Imagine you are listening to a CD from a new artist and you find a track that you absolutely love. Like most people, you are probably listening to the CD in your car with the jewel case and CD booklet safely at home. However, once you get home, the jewel case and CD booklet are no where to be found! Fortunately, all hope is not lost in identifying the name of the mystery track. Your computer, coupled with the magic of the Internet, allows you to quickly identify the artist, album and track listing of the album very quickly.

Instructions

1. Insert the CD into the CD drive on your computer. Open a media player such as Windows Media Player, iTunes or Winamp. Once open, the media player will detect the CD and automatically download and display the disc information, which includes the cover art, artist and album name and track listing.

2. Visit an online music store such as Amazon.com, iTunes or CDUniverse.com. Enter the artist into the search box and click "Search." Click on the album in the search results to display the track listing.

3. Visit a local music store and attempt to locate the CD. Most music stores group their CDs by genre, and the CDs are sorted alphabetically by artist name within each genre section.
