Make Real Tunes Around The "Punkomatic" Game

"Punk-O-Matic" is an online flash game that allows you to generate your own punk songs using sound clips of punk-style guitar and drums. Each instrument has its own row, and within that row you can click on boxes to indicate when you want each instrument to play. Numbers will appear when you click the boxes; this number is the number for each different sound clip. Click on the boxes to cycle through the sound clips and find the sounds you want to use in your song.

Instructions

1. Click one of the boxes in the "Drums" row to cycle through the drum sound clips. Hold the "Caps Lock" key on your keyboard and click the box to hear what each sound clip sounds like. Once you have found the sound you want for the drums, click every fourth box in the drums row to keep a consistent beat.

2. Click a box in the second row -- this is the first guitar. Click to cycle through the sounds until you have found riffs that you like. Some sounds will take up several boxes, so if you have a sound that goes on for four boxes, you will want to put another sound on the fifth box. It is important to change the guitar sounds throughout the song to keep the song interesting.

3. Select a box in the third row to choose sounds for the second guitar to play. Cycle through the sounds and sample each one of them until you find some that you want to use. Click boxes throughout the song to add a variety of guitar riffs.

4. Click "Save" once you are finished creating your song. Choose a save slot then click "OK" to save it. You will be able to hear the song again by clicking "Load" and selecting the saved song.
