With an iPod touch you can listen to your favorite songs, play games, watch videos and surf the Web. You can listen to music with earbuds on your iPod touch, or you can play it using speakers, using the dock adapter that comes with your iPod touch or using a speaker system with a built-in adapter.
Instructions
Using the Dock Adapter
1. Find the dock adapter that came in the box with your iPod touch.
2. Locate the dock connector on the bottom of your iPod touch. It looks like a slim line; the size should match the dock adapter.
3. Line the iPod touch's dock connector up with the dock adapter and push it down. It should slide down easily and click into place. If it is not going down easily, you are probably doing something wrong; take the iPod touch off the dock adapter and try again.
4. Connect the audio cable from your speakers to the audio input jack of the dock adapter.
5. Turn the speakers on and play music from your iPod touch as usual.
Using a Speaker System With a Built-In Dock Adapter
6. If you don't already own a speaker system with a built-in dock adapter, you can buy one from Apple; prices range from less than $50 to more than $500.
7. Locate the built-in dock adapter on your speakers. It is usually in the center of the system.
8. Locate the dock connector on the bottom of your iPod touch. It looks like a slim line; the size should match the dock adapter.
9. Line the iPod touch's dock connector up with the dock adapter and push it down. It should slide down easily and click into place. If it is not going down easily, you are probably doing something wrong; take the iPod touch off the dock adapter and try again.
10. Turn the system on and play music from your iPod as usual.
