The small area known as North Windham, Maine may not have a lot of square miles, but visitors to this area will still find a plenty of dining options. Within this little village in the town of Windham, you can find a number of quality restaurants that serve everything from steak to pizza to fresh Maine seafood and warm homemade chowders. The Landing Restaurant
North Windham's recently remodeled Landing Restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a sports bar lounge. Those who like a little action and entertainment with their meals will enjoy the restaurant's dart lane, video games, Wii games, jukebox and large HDTV's. On select evenings, the Landing also features live music and the occasional karaoke night. Menu items include burgers, chicken, beef, pork, a large selection of seafood, homemade chowders, lobster stew and select daily specials. The Landing's dining room stays open until 9 p.m., and the bar closes at 11 p.m. Happy hour runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day.

Charlie Beiggs Restaurant
Charlie Beiggs restaurant won the titles of best overall restaurant, best burger and fries and best happy hour in the local newspaper's 2009 Independent Business Awards. It also earned first place for the most romantic restaurant in The Lakes Region Weekly Awards. This family owned and operated eatery has operated in the Windham area for more than 20 years and specializes in steak and fresh seafood dishes made from ingredients obtained from local Maine vendors. Charlie Beiggs' large menu also includes sandwiches and flame-grilled burgers, pizza, pasta and salads. Daily specials, a kids' menu and early-bird specials are also offered. In addition to the main dining area, guests may also dine in the restaurant's Firehouse Tavern or on the outdoor deck.

Gilbert's Chowder House
Gilbert's Chowder House, off Route 302 in Windham's lakes region, specializes in fresh Maine seafood and award-winning New England-style chowders, in addition to steaks, ribs, sandwiches and salads. Both children and adults may order from Gilbert's "Not just for kids menu," and a selection of daily specials change periodically. This restaurant also features a large outdoor patio, and patrons may reserve rooms for private parties at no charge. Happy hour runs from 3 to 7 p.m. and all day Sunday, with half-price appetizers and drink specials. Gilbert's also features live acoustic music every Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
