Philips Keychain Camera Instructions

What if you could always have a camera with you, to take pictures at a moment's notice? While many people carry cell phones with a built-in camera, it might not always be available for use, such as when its battery is being recharged. However, another option is to use a digital keychain camera, which you'll likely take with you wherever you go. You can use the Philips Keychain Digital Camera by following a few easy instructions.

Instructions

Getting Started

1. Slide the battery door open and insert one AAA battery, then close the battery door. This turns on the camera automatically. Otherwise, press the "Mode" button to turn on the camera.

2. Press the "Mode" button until a number displays in the LCD screen, to find out how many pictures you can take (up to 20 in high-resolution format).

3. Slide up the viewfinder switch.

4. Look through the viewfinder while holding the camera steady, aiming it at your subject.

5. Press the shutter button until you hear a beep, which indicates a picture was taken. The number in the LCD screen will go down for each picture you take. When the counter reaches zero, you will either need to upload the images to your computer, or delete them in the camera before you can take more pictures.

Additional Features

6. Press the "Mode" button until "Lr" displays on the LCD screen to set to record video, and then press the shutter button to confirm the change. Press the "Mode" button again until "Ai" displays on the LCD, then press and hold the shutter button to record. Stop recording by releasing the shutter button.

7. Press the "Mode" button until "St" appears on the LCD screen, indicating self-timer mode, then press the shutter button to confirm the change. The camera will automatically take a picture in 10 seconds.

8. Press the "Mode" button until "Hr" appears on the LCD screen to select high-resolution format (20-picture capacity). Press it again to switch to "Lr," or low-resolution format (60-picture capacity). Then press the shutter button to confirm the change.

9. Press the "Mode" button until "CP" appears on the LCD screen to choose non-compressed mode, then press the shutter button to confirm the change. Using compressed mode with high-resolution format allows for taking 60 pictures, and with low-resolution format it allows for taking 243 pictures.

10. Press the "Mode" button until "CL" displays on the LCD screen, then press the shutter button. The LCD will flash. Press the shutter button while the LCD flashes to confirm deletion of the last image taken. Press the "Mode" button until "CR" displays on the LCD screen, then press the shutter button. The LCD will flash. Press the shutter button while the LCD flashes to confirm deletion of all images and videos.

Upload Pictures and Videos

11. Install the camera's software on your computer by inserting the "AvailaSoft" CD into your Windows computer. The installation window will open automatically. Follow the instructions to install the software and camera driver.

12. Plug the USB connector to the camera and the computer.

13. Click on the "MyCam CIF" shortcut icon on the desktop. The "MyCam" dialog box will ask you to load thumbnail images. Click "Yes."

14. Click the "Save" or "Save All" icon to save pictures or video files to your computer.
