Samsung Juke Instructions

The Samsung Juke takes flip phones in a new direction!

The Samsung SCH-U470 Juke is an innovatively designed "swivel" phone with a built-in music player and an integrated camera. The phone has Bluetooth connectivity and Internet access, which allows you to download ringtones and content from the web. The phone operates similarly to most Samsung handsets, and the new user shouldn't be put off by the swiveling function. In essence, the Juke is a straightforward handset.

Instructions

Call Functions

1. Switch your handset on by pressing and holding the "End/Power" key. The Juke must be opened for you to locate this button, and this is done by rotating the phone so the "Navigation Wheel" is at the top (it will need to be this way up to read from the external display screen anyway), and then swinging the front section clockwise, revealing the keypad underneath. The front display rotates through 180 degrees and stops when it is vertical. The "End/Power" key is located directly above the number "3."

2. Enter the number you wish to dial into the Juke's "Main Screen." This is the default screen you get when the phone is switched on. Press the "CLR" key to delete the last number entered. This is located to the left of the "End/Power" key.

3. Press the right "Soft" key to open up your "Contacts" list. You need to open the list to dial a number you have stored on your phone. The "Soft" keys perform the functions assigned to them onscreen. They are located in the top-right and top-left of the keypad, and perform the options stated in the bottom-right and bottom-left corners of the screen respectively. Use the "Navigation Wheel" to locate the required contact. Scroll by running your finger around the wheel, as on an iPod. Rotate clockwise to scroll down and counter-clockwise to scroll up.

4. Press "Send" to make your call. This is the same regardless of how you've brought up the number. The "Send" key is located directly above the number "1." You can also use this button to answer any incoming calls. If the phone is closed, you can also answer a call by swiveling the phone into the open position.

Menu Navigation

5. Press the "Center Select" key to enter the "Menu." This is the key in the middle of the "Navigation Wheel," and it is also used to advance in the menu screens.

6. Press the desired direction on the "Navigation Wheel" to select an item from the menu. You can press in "Up," "Down," "Left" and "Right" on the "Navigation Wheel" to make it easier to get around menus where scrolling wouldn't be suitable. Let's assume you want to see details of your last received call. Scroll to "Recent Calls" and press the "Center Key."

7. Scroll to "Received" and press the "Center Key" again. The "Center Key" serves as a "Select" button, but "Select" will also be displayed in the bottom-left of the screen, meaning you can also use the left "Soft" key to operate the function. This will bring up a list of your last received calls. You can press the "CLR" button to go back to the previous menu at any point, or press "End/Power" to return to the "Home" screen.
