The Creative Zen portable media player can be managed with Creative Centrale, a proprietary software created by Creative, or content can be downloaded to the player with Windows Media Player. Windows Media Player can rip music files from a CD, or gather media files saved on the computer and list the contents in the software Library. You can then transfer contents from the Library or drag them from the save location on the computer to download to the Zen player.
Instructions
1. Launch Windows Media Player.
2. Select between automatic and manual sync. Automatic sync will download all content in the Library to the Zen's maximum storage capacity. A manual sync allows you to choose which contents download to the Zen. To set up this option, click the "Sync" tab and "Choose Set Up Sync." Add a check mark or remove it from the box next to "Sync this device automatically."
3. Connect the Creative Zen MP3 player to the computer with a USB sync cable. If you are prompted by the AutoPlay box, select to sync the device with Windows Media Player.
4. Click "Finish" when prompted for an automatic sync. The software will now automatically download the Library content to the Zen.
5. Select the "Sync" tab to do a manual sync. Click the "Zen" device in the Navigation pane if more than one device is listed.
6. Drag files from the save location or the software Library and drop them into the "List" pane on the right side of the Windows Media Player interface.
7. Select "Start Sync." The software will sync the files to the Zen player.
