To get a disc out if it won't eject, turn the Blu-ray player off, and press and hold the Pause and Open/Close buttons at the same time for 5 seconds.
Panasonic's DMP-BD55 Blu-ray disc player includes a PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus, 7.1-channel lossless decode and analog output, BD-Live, Viera Link, and an SD card slot. Problems with the Blu-ray disc player can be related to operation and can include discs not playing; TV screen and video issues where the picture is doesn't show or the aspect is incorrect; and sound, including no sound or low volume. Problems such as these can be corrected by following some troubleshooting steps.
Instructions
1. Plug the Panasonic DMP-BD55 into an electrical outlet if the unit will not come on. Perform a soft reset if the Blu-ray player freezes by pressing and holding the power button for 3 seconds.
2. Perform a hard reset if you continue to have problems with the player. Press the "Power" button on the front to turn the player off. Press and hold the "Power" button and the "Open/Close" button at the same time. "Hello" will display on the read-out. The power will turn off and then back on.
3. Insert the disc with the label facing up if the disc won't play. To get the disc out if the disc won't eject normally, turn the Blu-ray player off, and press and hold the "Pause" and "Open/Close" buttond at the same time for 5 seconds. The tray should eject.
4. Connect the television to the "Video Out," "Component Video Out" or "HDMI AV Out" terminals on the Panasonic DMP-BD55 if you can't see images on the television. Any other jacks won't work. Verify that the television is on, and that the television's input setting corresponds to the Panasonic DMP-BD55.
5. Change the aspect ratio on the television if the 4.3 aspect ratio picture expands left and right. Look for an "Aspect" setting in the television's menu.
6. Check the connections are firmly seated if there's a problem with the audio. Turn the volume up on the television, and make sure "Mute" isn't selected. Look for a "Mute" button on the television's remote control.
