Connect An Ipod device To Outside Loudspeakers

Ear buds

Connecting an iPod to a stereo system involving outdoor speakers is a simple process. With a Y-audio cable you can play your iPod through any stereo receiver, and through any speaker hooked up to said receiver. A Y-audio cable has a left and right component that connects to your receiver's audio-in component port. The other end of your Y-audio cable is a single component that is attached to your iPod through its headphone jack. This system will allow you to listen to your iPod's library anywhere your speakers are located.

Instructions

1. Wire your outdoor speakers to your stereo receiver.

2. Insert the red and white components of your Y-audio cable into your receiver's audio-in red and white ports.

3. Connect your iPod to the black reverse end of your Y-audio cable through your iPod's headphone jack.

4. Turn on your stereo receiver.

5. Select the "AUX" function on your stereo.

6. Depress the buttons on your receiver that coincide with your outdoor speakers.

7. Play a song on your iPod.
