Develop A Computer Mp3 Jukebox

Build a Computer MP3 Jukebox

With the right combination of hardware and software, you can transform your computer into a fully functional home entertainment system. If you love to listen to music, you can build a high-quality computer jukebox to play your favorite MP3 files all day long. Putting it all together is not difficult, but it is important to gather everything you need before you get started.

Instructions

1. Choose a PC case that will meet your needs. If you are short on desk space a slimline case can be a good choice, but if you have plenty of room available you may want to go with a tower case instead. A tower case will give you more room to work with and will make future upgrades easier.

2. Make sure you choose a high-capacity hard drive for your homemade MP3 jukebox. Audio files can be quite large, even when they are in the compressed MP3 format. You should be able to find a 500 GB hard drive for around $100, and you may even be able to find an affordable terabyte drive.

3. Build your PC as you normally would, including adding memory and installing the operating system. Place your MP3 files on a thumb drive or external hard drive and transfer them to your computer. It is a good idea to make a specific folder for those MP3 files - this will make it easier to play them with your jukebox software.

4. Invest in a quality set of speakers for your new system. Chances are the speakers that came with the computer will not be adequate, so be sure to choose high-quality external speakers to make your music sound great.

5. Choose a good MP3 jukebox software package, download it and install it. Numerous media player and MP3 jukebox software packages are on the market, both as paid software and as freeware. It is a good idea to experiment with several packages to see which one you are most comfortable with.
