Old Men'S Club Interior Planning Ideas

Bring a pool table into an old men's club.

Oftentimes, men of older generations seek something to do with their time and join clubs, such as the Elks of the Knights of Columbus. Joining such clubs enables them to socialize with individuals who share common interests and participate in extracurricular activities. If you're a member of a men's club, make it an appealing and welcoming place to gather with masculine interior design.

The Walls and Ceiling

Begin by decorating the walls and ceiling of the club. Select earth-toned colors to give the space a masculine, casual feel. Colors such as tans and beige help to open the space up, but that doesn't mean that you have to be limited to muted colors. Paint an accent wall jade green or maroon. Hang a wooden chair rail or wood-toned wainscoting on the walls. Stain two-by-fours and suspend them from the ceiling to create an exposed beam look. Frame the top of the walls with crown moulding. If there's a fireplace in the club, give it a face lift with a new brick or natural stone front.

Furnishings

Choose comfortable, welcoming furnishings that also reflect masculinity. Large, overstuffed leather couches and wingback chairs are inviting and comfortable to sit in. Hang a wall-mounted big-screen flat panel television on the wall to watch games. Bring in a mission style coffee table. A round table surrounded by cushioned rolling chairs is an ideal place to play poker and other card games. If the men in your club enjoy playing pool, set up a pool table with a frosted green lamp hung above it. Stock wooden bookshelves with a variety of reading materials. Put a jukebox in a corner so club members can listen to favorite tunes. For toasting members birthdays, commemorate the wins of favorite sports teams and just for imbibing spirits to celebrate any day, bring a bar into this club setting. You can build one from scratch or purchase one that is pre-fabricated.

Accessories

Complete the look of your club with accessories. Braided throw rugs bring warmth to the space. A popcorn popper is not only useful, but it adds decorative interest to the room. It may seem cliche, but novelty animal heads hung on the walls may work well for your space. In addition to the animal heads, you could also hang paintings of landscapes on the walls and framed photographs of club members. Cover the windows with wooden plantation shutters and floor-to-ceiling flannel drapes.
