The iPod Loader program allows you to switch between different programs designed for the iPod, though it was not created by Apple. Some of the programs include a version of Linux specifically made for the iPod called "iPod-Linux" that allows users to use their iPod in a Linux environment, a software replacement for the iPod's firmware called "Rockbox" that aims to make the iPod run more efficiently, and other various other programs. The beauty of the program is users can use iPod Loader to quickly switch from one program to another on the fly and can switch back to using their iPod in the regular way once they are finished using their applications.
Instructions
1. Connect your iPod to your computer via the USB connections.
2. Click "Start" then "My Computer" and open your connected iPod device. Open your downloaded iPod Loader RAR file and open the folder "IPL." Drag and drop the folder "iPod Loader" you see in the IPL folder to your desktop.
3. Drag and drop the "iPod Loader" folder into your opened iPod device window. In the same window, open the "iPod Loader" folder and click "iPod Patcher."
4. Insert a lowercase "i" when prompted to do so and press "Enter." A program entitled "Loader" will now be created in your iPod, which will successfully install "iPod Loader."
