Stylish design, and intuitive controls
Casio is the giant of the digital watch world. Their innovative design has kept them at the top of the market, and the AQ160 is yet another example of the simple and effective design that Casio has become famous for. The AQ160 gives you both an analog and a digital display, and allows you to see what time it is anywhere in the world.
Instructions
Setting the Time
1. Ensure that the watch is set in "Timekeeping Mode." This is the standard setting, so unless you've accidentally pushed a button you shouldn't have to change anything. You should be able to see the time and date details (or day, depending on which display mode is active).
2. Hold down the top-left button (referred to as the "A" button) until the seconds counter starts to flash.
3. Press the bottom left button ("C") twice to bring up the "Home City Code" screen. The top right ("B") and bottom right ("D") buttons toggle between time zones. "D" takes you further east, and "B" further west. Scroll through until you find the appropriate time zone. For example, for East Coast time scroll until it displays "NYC."
4. Press the "C" button again to change the hour ("B" goes back an hour and "D" goes forward). Another press of "C" selects minutes, which are changed in the same way.
5. Tap the "C" button again to select the "12/24 Hour" setting screen, use "D" to toggle between the options. The "C" button scrolls through the various options, which can be changed with the "B" and "D" buttons. Using this method, you can also set the date, toggle Daylight Saving Time ("DST") on and off, and set the length of time the watch stays illuminated after a button press. Pressing "A" again will exit the "Settings" screen.
Setting an Alarm
6. Press the "C" button four times from the "Timekeeping Mode" screen to bring up the "Alarms" screen. You should see "AL1" displayed on the top of the screen. There are four standard alarms, an "Hourly Time Signal" (which goes off with a double-beep on each hour) and a "Snooze Alarm" (which repeats every five minutes until it is deactivated) on the Casio AQ160.
7. Select the alarm you want to set, and hold down the "A" button until the hour display begins to flash (indicating that you've entered "Settings" mode). Change between hours and minutes with the "C" button, and edit them with the "B" and "D" buttons, in the same way as when you set the time.
8. Once this has been done, press the "A" button to exit the "Settings" screen. This action also sets the alarm. The display will read "On" in the bottom right corner if the alarm is active, and "Off" if it isn't. You can change this by tapping the "A" button.
