Cricut Expression, a product of ProvoCraft, essentially is a die cutting machine that uses design cartridges to cut letters, shapes and phrases in a variety of sizes. These die cuts can be used in scrapbooking, cake decorating and interior design applications. The Cricut Expression 24-inch Personal Electronic Cutter is bigger than the Cricut Create or Cricut Personal machine and is more suited to staying put on a worktable or desk. This machine allows you to make larger die cuts than any other Cricut machine.
Function
The Cricut Expression machine uses an assortment of cartridges with an accompanying keypad overlay. The top of the machine has a display window that shows you a variety of sizes and shapes to choose from. The machine also allows you to adjust the size and number of cuts. These cartridges are sold separately, except for the one or two cartridges that come with the machine. To make a cut, you place your paper on the mat and position the mat against the roller bar at the front of the machine. The bar pulls in the mat, cuts your design and releases the mat with the die cut.
Consumables
Consumables for the Cricut Expression die cutting machine include paper, vinyl, cutting mats, color inks, blades, chipboard and card stock. The machine accommodates a large mat, at 12 by 24 inches, allowing you to use the larger 12 by 12-inch design paper.
Die Cut Specifications
The Cricut Expression machine can cut shapes and letters from as small as 0.25 inches or 0.62 cm to as large as 23.5 inches or 59.69 cm. The machine uses paper sizes up to 12 by 12 inches or 30.48 by 30.48 cm, when using the smaller cutting mat, or 12 by 24 inches or 30.48 by 60.96 cm when using the large mat, which is purchased separately.
