Syncing your MP3 player to iTunes
Because the iTunes media software program was created by the Apple corporation, only the iPod MP3 player can be used with it. That's good news if you own an iPod and would like to sync it with iTunes on your home computer. And even if you aren't very tech savvy, there's no need to be intimidated. iTunes is designed so that all you need to sync an iPod and start transferring music is to plug the device into the computer and open iTunes.
Instructions
1. Open iTunes from the computer's desktop.
2. Insert the wider end of the USB cable into the port in the bottom of the iPod. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the computer. When iTunes recognizes the iPod, the software will launch the "Setup Assistant Wizard." A new window will appear on the computer screen.
3. Follow the prompts in the "Setup Assistant Wizard" window to agree to the various terms and conditions. Enter a name for the iPod in a text box that appears in the following window.
4. Click "Finish" from the list of options in the final window and iTunes will begin to sync with the iPod. Do not unplug the iPod until the syncing has finished.
5. Follow the prompts on screen to register the iPod. At this point your iPod MP3 player is synced with iTunes and the MP3s will automatically transfer to the iPod.
