Use Itunes With A Third Party Music Player

Use a USB adapter to connect your non-Apple, third-party USB player to a computer.

Manufacturers of portable MP3 players that do not support direct drag-and-drop media transfers may insist that you use additional synchronization software that is confusing or unnecessary. While iTunes is the default media management and synchronization for the manufacturer's own line of devices, the software boasts compatibility with a wide array of third-party MP3 players. As a result, you may be able to use your player with the iTunes, which can be convenient if you already rely on the software for media management.

Instructions

1. Launch iTunes.

2. Connect your third-party MP3 player to the computer to test its iTunes compatibility. The player's device icon will appear in the iTunes Source pane once it is recognized.

3. Drag and drop media files from the Library pane directly onto the device icon to sync them onto your third-party MP3 player.
