Change A Frozen And Lockedup Battery With An Archos 504

The Archos 504 personal entertainment tablet features playback for your audio, video and digital photos in a hand-held portable format. The Archos is powered by a rechargeable battery that attaches to the back of the tablet and receives charge from the USB port on your computer. If the battery is no longer holding charge or is freezing and locking up on your Archos, consider replacing the battery. Be careful during the installation of the new battery, as a faulty installation can damage the Archos beyond repair.

Instructions

1. Turn off the Archos 504.

2. Flip over the Archos and lay it face down on a flat, clean surface. Place the Archos on a piece of cloth or a T-shirt to avoid scratching the screen.

3. Slide the Archos battery pack to the left until it disconnects from the Archos body and remove it from the device.

4. Align the new battery on the device and slide the battery to the right until it snaps into place. Plug the Archos into the computer and charge the battery until it is fully charged.
