Make Title Strips For Boards

Bulletin boards and display boards are common sights in a school environment. Display boards are often used in science fair projects as well. Without a title, any display board would be confusing at first glance. Making title strips for display boards is a great way to label and draw attention to your project. You can also throw in a bit of creative flair if you prefer. Title strips can be made in a variety of ways and can be accomplished with little difficulty.

Instructions

1. Measure the space at the top of your board where you'd like to place the title. Envision how big the lettering should be for the space that you have.

2. Cut a piece of cardboard or construction paper into a rectangular strip matching your measurements.

3. Write the title letters onto the strip using stencils to create a uniform look. Block lettering is ideal to use because it will stand out better. Ensure that you space the letters out evenly across the strip.

4. Set the strip onto a cutting board and secure it using tape. Cut out the lettering using a sharp utility knife.

5. Apply glue to the back of the strip. Place a different colored piece of paper behind the strip onto the glued area. This will be the color of your lettering.

6. Glue or tape the title strip to the top of your display board. Center the strip as much as possible at the top of the board. Repeat these steps as necessary with any other titles that you need to make.
